Category Management
Learn how to create and manage ticket categories in the Ticky Dashboard.
What are Categories?
Categories help organize different types of tickets. You can create categories for:
- Support tickets
- Application forms
- Bug reports
- Feature requests
- And more…
Creating a Category
Basic Category Setup
- Go to Categories in the dashboard
- Click Create Category
- Fill in the details:
- Name: Category name (e.g., “Support”, “Applications”)
- Emoji: Visual identifier for the category
- Description: What this category is for
- Click Create
Category Settings
Configure your category:
- Opening Message: Customize the message sent when a ticket opens
- Closing Message: Customize the message sent when a ticket closes
- Ping Roles: Roles to mention when tickets are created
- Closed Category: Set a category where closed tickets are moved
Managing Categories
Editing Categories
- Go to Categories
- Click on a category to edit
- Modify settings as needed
- Click Save
Deleting Categories
- Go to Categories
- Click on a category
- Click Delete
- Confirm deletion
Note: Deleting a category doesn’t delete existing tickets.
Category Features
Opening Messages
Customize the message sent when a ticket opens:
- Use placeholders:
{number},{category},{username} - Custom embed colors and images
- Add custom footer text
Closing Messages
Customize the message sent when a ticket closes:
- Similar placeholders as opening message
- Custom embed styling
- Optional closing image
Ping Roles
Set roles to mention when tickets are created:
- Add role IDs to ping roles list
- These roles will be pinged in new tickets
- Useful for notifying support staff
Closed Categories
Organize closed tickets:
- Create a “Closed Tickets” category in Discord
- Set it as the closed category
- Closed tickets will be moved there automatically

- Use clear, descriptive category names
